James Progress

Some progress on my current painting,
Will move onto painting the body then more touchups
on the face as a final step.

Nonna Varnishing

Began varnishing a painting completed at the beginning of the year.
Here is a side by side comparison of the unvarnished, and varnished with a single coat.
Will be adding a few more coats to even things out.
I like how the varnish adds a richness to the colours.
Used Windsor & Newton, Artists' Gloss Varnish.

James Underpainting

Completed underpainting stage with some values blocked in.
terra rosa mixed with burnt umber oils, thinned with terpenoid.
